I’m so glad you stopped by today.  With so much to see on the internet, I’m honored you chose to read what I have to say.  I am Whitney, the creative force and single entity behind Inkling & Wit.  I am an artist with a love for texture and color, yes, even black.  As an artist I’ve learned black is never equal.  For years I have been mixing my own blacks, to create even richer, intense shades of dark.  As a designer I take this knowledge to heart and never use flat black or 100%k.  For all you techies out there, I always add some CM&Y to the mix because black made with all four colors is and prints fabulous.

Why tell you all that?  Because, I figure you don’t simply want to read my resume.

Here’s what you need to know.  I am a professional artist.  I have a love (and a couple degrees in) for printmaking.  Printmaking is the art form where you get to make an image, smear ink all over it, then press it to paper, as many time as you want by re-inking the plate (image).  I make handmade paper though my day job at Maple Street Paper Company.

Inkling & Wit is a way to expand on my paper knowledge and this site is dedicated to sharing a little of my artistic process with you. To me the artistic process is more than sketches.  Inspiration comes from everywhere and that is just as important as the finished product.  Stop by to view, musings, color schemes, sales and any going on’s with Inkling & Wit.

And, if you want to know how Inkling & Wit got it’s name, you can read more here.
